Magellan Aerospace
Magellan Aerospace is an aerospace manufacturing corporation which is based in Canada. It also has offices in the USA and England, based at Orenda, Bournemouth, Wrexham, Bristol and Biggleswade. Magellan's main clients are Airbus, Boeing and Westlands helicopters. One of the major projects Magellan have recently been working on has been the Airbus A380 Superjumbo, the largest passenger airplane ever built. They specialise in wing making and wing ribs in particular. Magellan is a multi-million pound business turning over in excess of £20 million a year. The Bournemouth branch mainly manufactures smaller scale wing ribs, and internal parts for the plane, such as rivet etc. They have a design department, a purchasing department, an IT department and several hundred employees. |
